They really understand what it’s like growing up with Asian family expectations. I didn’t have to explain everything from scratch. Therapy helped me find a way to set boundaries without feeling like I was disrespecting my culture.
I honestly couldn’t do therapy if it weren’t for the evening and weekend times. They really work around my schedule, and it never feels rushed. Super knowledgeable and easy to talk to.

It’s so ADHD-friendly here. The sessions have structure, but there’s also room to adapt depending on how my brain’s working that day. No judgment—just stuff that actually helps.
For the first time in a long time, I feel safe opening up. It’s clear they really understand trauma, and the way they show up—it just makes healing feel doable.

Questions About Boundaries and People-Pleasing
Isn't putting others first just being a nice, considerate person — why would that need a program?
Being considerate and being a people-pleaser aren’t quite the same. People-pleasing usually comes from a harder place — fear of conflict, fear of being disliked, or feeling like your own needs don’t count as much as everyone else’s. This program is about keeping your generosity while making sure it’s actually a choice, not a compulsion.
Will learning to set boundaries make me seem selfish, or cause conflict with people I care about?
It’s a really common worry, and usually the opposite happens — boundaries set with care tend to make relationships more honest and sustainable, not more strained. Some people around you may need an adjustment period, but the program spends real time practicing how to say things clearly without being harsh.
What if my people-pleasing comes from cultural or family expectations, like always deferring to parents or elders?
That’s a really common root, and something our therapists are especially attuned to — this program isn’t about rejecting your values or your family, it’s about helping you find where genuine respect ends and self-erasure begins, so you can honour both your relationships and yourself.
Can I focus this on just one relationship, like a difficult boss or parent, or is it more all-encompassing?
Either works. Some people come in wanting to work through one specific relationship where the pattern feels strongest, while others want to look at the broader pattern across their whole life — you can shape the focus with your therapist based on what’s most useful for you.
Is this program covered by insurance?
Yes, we offer direct billing with most major Canadian insurance providers, including Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, and Pacific Blue Cross — the same coverage available across our other services.
Is this different from working through people-pleasing patterns in regular individual counselling?
People-pleasing often comes up as one thread within broader, open-ended individual counselling. This program is different in that it’s entirely dedicated to it — a focused three-session structure built specifically around boundaries, self-worth, and breaking the pattern, rather than being one topic among several.
